About

I Pledge a Fallegiance: And other Common Nonsense in Today’s Public Schools is the first book to analyze the public schools from the inside out without focusing on cute anecdotes or heartwarming stories. Rather it is a book that explains what really goes on in a public school in simple, straight forward language and in the vernacular common to the students of today. The title is in reference to the Pledge of Allegiance as I often heard it recited in high school homerooms by students who had grown accustomed to the rote reciting of a series of words that they no longer listened to. Much of what goes on in today’s schools parallels this same learning pattern: rote memorization, standardized testing and oppressive bureaucratic oversight that pays little attention to our changing culture, technology and children of the 21st century.

I pledge!

Hi, glad you liked the incredibly low calorie cheesecake post. It was so easy and, I thought, delish…But the best of it is that you can eat it every night or morning and without guilt because it is actually good for you. 18 – 22 grams of protein, and no fat. THat’s my kinda cheesecake. Anyhow, thanks for stopping by and pressing like a coupla times in two days. Maybe you even read what I wrote. That’s cool.

I think I have already mentioned that I really like your blogs. I am not originally from your country … sometimes I do not feel I have the right to say certain things. But what I do want to say is that for all the bad things, there is so much more good here. I read your post and think to myself, yes! someone is speaking what I am thinking.
