The Media is the Menace!

29 Jan

170120_pol_inaugrationattendance.jpg.CROP.promo-large2.jpg

If you look at these two images and believe that you are seeing what you think you are seeing then you are one of the most dishonest human beings on Earth and nothing short of being lying, deceitful scum…and that’s not my opinion but rather the opinion of our 45th President of the United States.

At least that is what President Donald Trump had to say about members of the national media who reported that the above photo shows that President Obama’s 2009 inauguration as compared to President Trump’s 2017 inauguration, had more people in attendance.

President Trump’s press secretary even announced that the bottom photo, which shows the crowd at President Trump’s inauguration, actually depicts “the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration,”

So, what do you think?

Not that it matters mind you, because, when you have won the Presidency of the United States isn’t that an achievement? Does the size of your inauguration crowd, as compared to another President’s crowd size, measure your success? On the first day? Really?

Doesn’t the President, and all of the President’s men… and women… have better things to do? Apparently not if you are Presidential Spokesperson, Kellyanne Conway. Who also went on national television to tell Americans that the President had “alternate facts” to explain why we should all see more people in his inaugural photo rather than President Obama’s inaugural photo.

President Trump’s political strategist, Steve Bannon, later joined the debate and went on to categorize the media as “the opposition party” (to Trump? to truth? to what?) and suggested that they “shut up” from here on in.

And recently Kellyanne added: “Get used to it. He’s (Trump) just getting started!”

So America, get used to the new normal. Seeing is no longer believing. Believing is believing! It’s just that simple. Listen to what the President says, then shut up and believe.

What could be an easier…and more American… way than that for you to help make America great again?

Strawberries… and Nuts

25 Jan

There is a scene in the fictional naval drama, The Caine Mutiny, in which Captain Queeg  becomes convinced that missing strawberries from the officer’s mess were stolen by a sailor who had made a duplicate key to the food storage locker that he then used for the theft. The Captain then orders a ship wide search in an effort to find the duplicate key so as to prove his theory and bring the thief to justice.

It is later revealed to the audience that Ensign Harding had already informed Queeg that the mess boys had eaten the strawberries, and that Queeg had threatened to revoke Harding’s leave if he revealed that knowledge to anyone else, while the Captain continues the search for what he knows to be a non-existent key.

Meanwhile  here in the real world drama of the American Presidency, President Donald Trump had this to say via Twitter:

“I will be asking for a major investigation into VOTER FRAUD, including those registered to vote in two states, those who are illegal and….even, those registered to vote who are dead (and many for a long time). Depending on results, we will strengthen up voting procedures!”

He is making this claim and hoping to pursue this investigation despite an overwhelming consensus among state officials, election experts and politicians that voter fraud in the United States is rare…and that no evidence of widespread voter fraud has ever been found in the history of U.S. elections.

And yet despite having been declared the winner of the Presidency with 306 electoral votes, President Trump is still convinced that 5 million illegal aliens and dead citizens not only illegally cast votes in November’s election but also that all of those illegal votes were cast against him!…and thereby costing him a victory in the popular vote… which he lost to his opponent, Hillary Clinton, by 3 million.

5 million illegal votes would be an amount equal to almost 4% of  all of the votes cast in November’s election! That’s a lot of dead aliens! Or dead voters! Or Illegal voters. Or illegal aliens!… And they all voted for Ms. Clinton?! Not one dead/illegal/alien vote for Mr. Trump… who only carried some states by a mere few thousand votes?

For the sake of all that is sane, President Trump’s crazy crusade for illegal voters, which he has to know is a bogus one, lest he actually be insane… by definition… could only lead to his undoing should his insane quest somehow succeed…because he has already won the Presidency!!!!  What has he got to win???

White House Press Secretary, Sean Spicer, has since confirmed that President Trump continues to believe that  millions of illegal immigrants (and/or dead people) voted in the Nov. 8th  election even though he also could not provide any evidence to support those beliefs. He did however go on to say that although no White House investigation is at yet officially planned… “maybe we will … anything is possible.”

Holy crap… and strawberries… on a cracker!

Image result for US military parade

President Donald Trump in his interview with the Washington Post said that being a great president has to do with “being a cheerleader for the country.” He then added:

“We’re going to show the people as we build up our military, we’re going to display our military. That military may come marching down Pennsylvania Avenue. That military may be flying over New York City and Washington D.C., for parades. I mean we’re going to be showing our military.”

Cool! Military parades with guns and tanks and missiles parading down Pennsylvania Avenue…maybe even this Spring? Perhaps sometime in May? Or maybe this summer! In any event it’s been a long time since we’ve had military style parades in The USA. Who knows how they will be received or attended by the public but I guess it will be great for the Oil and gas industry at least, and for tourists and for parades in general now that the circus is closing. Maybe we can hire unemployed clowns to join the parades just to help get them back into the jobs market?

Anyway, even though I thought it was a much longer time ago, the last time Washington staged a military parade with troops, tanks, and armored vehicles was on June 8th, 1991, when the US celebrated the end of Operation Desert Storm. General Norman Schwarzkopf, led the procession that passed by then President George H.W. Bush and other administration officials. And later a similar parade made its way through NYC.

So at least we have something to look forward to this year! Hopefully there will just be a military parade sans any military weapons demonstrations like the launching of a nuclear missile! I only speculate because our President once famously pondered as to why we have them (nuclear weapons) if we don’t use them?

Just saying…Yikes!

Mission Accomplished?

22 Jan

Trump in Hat MAGA

Good news! President Donald J. Trump has announced his re-election slogan for 2020!  Yes, he is already working on his re-election campaign. And his new and future slogan will be..  “ ‘Keep America Great,’ exclamation point.” He is even having it trademarked. (Just like the last one) So if you were thinking of running against him next time around? Sorry, you’ll need to come up with a different slogan. (and buy a new hat)

That is assuming he succeeds at making America great again because President Trump has barely begun rolling up his sleeves, and tie, to get started on the job of putting the country back in order… but you do have to admire his confidence.

He is even more confident than President George W. Bush was when he declared “Mission Accomplished” with his war in Iraq way back in 2003, only a few months after it had started (and years before the war was actually concluded). Speaking of which…has it concluded? And did we accomplish anything with the war in Iraq?… Anyone?…Well at least his Mission was accomplished and that is the important thing and one of the reasons why Republicans consider G. W. B. to be one of the greatest Presidents of all time.?

Anyway, here is President Trump’s most recent quote to the Washington Post about his newest slogan and how he will accomplish his great mission to make America great again and keep it that way:

“I never thought I’d be giving my expression for four years, but I am so confident that we are going to be, it is going to be so amazing. It’s the only reason I give it to you. If I was, like, ambiguous about it, if I wasn’t sure about what is going to happen — the country is going to be great… Honestly, you haven’t seen anything yet. Wait till you see what happens, starting next Monday. A lot of things are going to happen. Great things.”

He sure does have a way with words doesn’t he?

And with such a well articulated plan how could he possibly go wrong?

The only question now to ask is… will 2020 be hindsight?…or not?

Hang-Over Holiday?

19 Jan

Donald and Melania Trump

Somewhere around noon on Friday January 20th Mr Donald Trump will officially become the 45th President of the United States..but if you are worried about being immediately deported or if you have to start that new job you were hired for to build the Great Mexican Wall or if you are worried about your health-care policy being terminated or even if you are Hillary Clinton and worried about being arrested, you can rest easy until  January 23rd.

Because Mr. Trump has announced that his first official day as POTUS won’t begin until Monday because immediately after being sworn in he’s going to take his first vacation.

“Day one – which I will consider to be Monday as opposed to Friday or Saturday. Right? I mean my day one is gonna be Monday because I don’t want to be signing and get it mixed up with lots of celebration.” said The 45th President-Elect to a reporter from The Times.

Wow! Could you imagine how Republicans would have reacted if President Obama had said that back in 2008? The first African American President taking a vacation to party and celebrate immediately after being sworn in?! They’re collective heads would have exploded, right after they had all pooped their pants!

(Note to Russia: Attack immediately!)

Anyway, now imagine that the Obama children and Michelle O.had stayed in school back in Chicago to finish out their 2008/09 school year. NYC has reported that it will cost over 1 million dollars a day to supply the necessary security for Melania and Baron T. to stay in New York to finish their shopping….er..um school year…and that doesn’t even include the Secret Service costs.

That’s 1 billion dollars by mid June! Plus President Trump-to-be plans to fly back and forth regularly on the weekends and Melania will be doing the same when she needs to be in Washington. This will cost a fortune in security costs for the Secret Service and for NYC, all to be paid for with tax dollars of course.

But he will be the President of the United States and he and his family deserve and need to be protected and no one will deny or dispute that…but just imagine how the Republican minions, who went positively apoplectic anytime the Obama’s took a vacation or President O. played a round of golf, would have behaved had they charged the USA billions of dollars just to come and go as they pleased during the work week!

OMG! Generals Jackson and Lee would have risen from the grave and led an army of newly minted, “Stars and Bars” waving, confederates along side resurrected cadavers in a march on Washington!…Am I wrong?

Of course former NYC Mayor and billionaire, Michael Bloomberg, payed for his own travel back and forth to his home in Bermuda from Friday afternoon to Sunday evenings on many weekends during his 12 years in office. He even payed for 2 police officers on his protection detail to stay in a hotel during those weekends. But after all Mr. Bloomberg was only running a major US city not the entire country! And he is a billionaire after all.

But Donald Trump is a billionaire too, isn’t he?  He says that he is although we have never seen any proof as to how many billions he actually has. According to Forbes, Mr. Bloomberg has 41.8 billion…and Mr. Trump has about 3.7, so the likely hood of President trump picking up the tab for his presidential commutes to NYC and back is about as likely as First Lady Melania using a non gold plated commode in the White House…

I know, that’s mean…but let’s just say this whole inauguration and transition thing from the 44th POTUS to the 45th POTUS is bringing out the “Trump” in me…Oh well, Happy stay-cation! See you on Monday bright and early…and maybe a bit hung-over…

Boy I sure am glad the Obamas weren’t this needy!

The Gold Standard

17 Jan

Image result

Remember when you were a child in school and one of the basic requirements was to learn about how to get along with others and to learn how to share with and respect others and how not to be a bully, or snob, or selfish, or a rumor monger? It was all a part of what was called socialization and learning how to live within a society of varied others who had different backgrounds yet shared the same basic tenet of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

That was called the Golden Rule and everyone has heard about it and just about everyone also recognizes it as the most important rule among all of the learned rules of childhood.

Consequently we were also taught that if one chose to live in opposition to that Golden Rule then one should also get used to a life of conflict and strife with others and possibly the living of a very stressful and unhappy life also.

So why is President-Elect Trump and his surrounding entourage of Republicans so mystified and angered by some Democrats declaring his soon to be presidency of possible illegitimate origins and of their unhappiness with his upcoming inauguration?

Did not Donald Trump wage a campaign for five years in which he declared President Obama to be an illegitimate president? Did Donald Trump not say that he had investigators all across America who were discovering amazing facts about President Obama’s birth that would prove that he was never an American citizen?

Did not the Republicans announce publicly on day one of President Obama’s administration that they would never work with him on any of his proposals and oppose him at every turn, even though he had been duly elected by the American people?

Did not Candidate Trump call Hillary Clinton a crooked, evil, nasty woman who belonged in jail based on information that he said he knew to be true but could not prove because after all is not proof simply based upon what one believes in one’s heart rather than what one can prove with factual information?

It’s quite apparent that Mr. Trump and all of Trump’s men (and Kellyanne Conway) did not learn their lessons in school…or have chosen to forget them. This is why it is so important to go to school in the first place and pay attention when in school, in the second place. We school teachers of course saw this coming and could have told them that they would soon be reaping what they had sown.

They can throw tantrums if they like but that will do them little good. Any parent worth his or her salt knows that “growing up” is the only answer for a child who is facing problems like these. But getting grown-ups to grow up?… After they have been elected to the Presidency and Congress of the United States?

It has been taught that when asked to sum up the entire Torah concisely, Jesus responded: “That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow; the rest is the explanation; go and learn!

CNN You Later!

11 Jan

Related image

Donald Trump gave his first press conference as President-Elect of the United States today…And FYI,  if you own stock in CNN you might want to consider selling. He called them a fake news agency that only reports fake news and then he refused to take a question from the CNN reporter in attendance because…well, you know, he was fake? Anyway, Sell! Sell! Sell!

He also accused the Intelligence Agency (all of them) of being non-intelligent (again) and likened their behavior to Nazi behavior (that’s pretty bad) because they leaked an unverified report that was supposed to be for his eyes only (or at least very few eyes)

Mr. Trump does not like the US Intelligence Agencies that we have and he does not believe much of what they tell him so this could be a problem for the future intelligence of just about everyone.

On a positive note Mr. Trump promised that more companies and jobs would be staying in the U.S. because he would get tough with any companies that try to move outside of the United States. That sounds like a very good thing and something that is hard to argue with…and seriously, why would anyone want to try?

But rather perplexingly he noted that lots of jobs were needed because 93 million Americans were out of work. That’s a lot of Americans or about 1/3 of all of the legal Americans in the USA. And if you subtract children and the elderly then 93 million American job seekers would be equal to roughly 1/2 of all citizens in the U.S.

1 out of 2 Americans are out of work? That sounds like a lot to me…and surely something that we would have noticed.

But President-elect Trump did promise that Obamacare (The Affordable Care Act) would be repealed immediately upon his taking office. And on another positive note he promised to “almost simultaneously” replace it with a much better healthcare plan that would save everyone money and offer better care.

I cannot argue with that and am looking forward to it as I am sure everyone is. This is a no brainer because we will all easily be able to tell if our healthcare is better by checking our own bills and by asking our loved ones who are going to lose their ACA insurance policies, (and I’m sure you probably know one) if they have been replaced with better insurance policies. However, I must point out that one should never use the words almost and simultaneously in the same sentence and especially not in juxtaposition…so we’ll see.

PE Trump has also promised to bring down drug (pharmaceutical) prices. That’s good! And to immediately begin building the great wall of Mexico with U.S. funds. That’s bad! But Mexico will pay for it later after he negotiates with them. That’s confusing! Because I’m not paying for the fence my neighbor puts up on his property. Not now. Not ever. So we’ll have to wish ourselves luck with that one…maybe a wall crossing toll?

Mr. Trump has also placed his various and expansive business interests in a blind trust that he explained would be blind because when his sons make business deals on his behalf with the business that he is giving to them, rather than divest it from his interest, he simply will not look…just like we cannot look at his taxes which he says no one wants to look at anyway.

I want to look. How about you? I’m just curious to see how much he really makes and how much he pays in taxes. Especially after today when he told us that his holdings are Humongous and World Wide! (Except Russia…Nyet) And from what I know about Mr. Trump he would really, really, really want show us if there was really something good for us to see in his tax returns. Am I wrong? He says that he wants to show us but he is being audited by the IRS and so he can’t. The IRS for some reason can’t verify or deny that claim but they did say that being audited does not prevent anyone from showing their tax returns to anyone else.

I’ve been audited. Maybe you have too. And it doesn’t take that long believe me. The IRS gives you a deadline and if you don’t meet it you’re in the shit. So it moves along quite quickly. The IRS is not the DMV that’s for sure so I’m pretty sure PE Trump is lying to us about this one.

But then again Hillary and her Emails! So maybe we can have 9 Congressional inquiries and hearings to get to the bottom of Mr. Trumps’ taxes… but it looks doubtful.

In conclusion, President-elect Trump gave a very entertaining press conference filled with suspense, accusations, humor, anger, lawyers, bales of paper and infotainment…and boy was it better than any episode of The Apprentice! Which is good news for television networks, television viewers and probably even televisions, everywhere…

So America, let the show go on!…Can we stop it?

Image result for make america great again

Soon President elect Donald Trump will assume the Presidency of the United States. I am one of the many Americans who views this as the beginning of at least 4 years of great trial and tribulation for the United States of America and the world at large.

Perhaps you are one of the other Americans who believes that this will be the dawn of a new wonderful American age, or perhaps you are one of those Americans can’t wait to see what happens next as though this will be the beginning of the best television show you will ever hope to see.

In any event, I have no idea what is going to happen over the next 4 years but I am going to make a prediction about the future. Then we can all wait and see if I am correct or not. I predict that in 4 years (or sooner) The Democratic Party’s nominee for President of the United States 2020 slogan will be:

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

And the Counting Continues…

1 Jan

Happy New Year everyone and thank you for visiting my blog once again this year. There are 525,600 minutes in a year and in 2012, I crossed the 30 million mark in minutes spent on Earth

…So that means that as of midnight of the 31st of December this year I will arrive at 32,400,000!…but again, who’s counting? Still over 32 million minutes alive!? Is that an accomplishment or just something that breathing and waking up every day took care of for me? And why does it seem to have flown by so quickly…and keep accelerating all the time? Life in the fourth dimension took forever to move through when I was a child…but now it seems like I am definitely on the fast track to old age!

Anyway, thanks for continuing to slow yourself down every once in a while by taking the time to visit and read my blog…and please keep reading if you will, unless you can thing of a better way to spend your minutes.

In any case, do your best to Spend your time wisely …it may be a crazy and unpredictable world but it still is the only world in town.

I’ll be approaching the 33 million minute threshold sometime this year and I will do my best  to keep enjoying every minute of those minutes!

Do your best to enjoy each and every one of your minutes too.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
