TrickleReaganTrumpanomics

Donald Trump announced his grand economic plan at the debate last night. And mostly it includes tax cuts for the wealthy because the wealthy love to create jobs for the common folk and so if you give the wealthy more money then they will spend it on you.

Sadly, we can never propose to give the poor folk more money because that would be socialism and the more money you give to the poor the worse it gets for them because they only get lazy and then waste the money on drugs and then need more socialism.

The wealthy however are never lazy and do not waste any money on drugs but rather only wish to spend their excess money on making things better for the poor by creating more business/job opportunities which is a good thing that in turn makes more money for the wealthy which is another good thing and since there is nothing social about it, just business… It is a great thing.

Except no matter how many times this economic plan is tried, no matter where, no matter when, it always fails to produce the results expected…or hoped for. And why is that? Because when wealthy people get more money, they keep it and add it to their collection of money. Or they spend it on the extravagances that they enjoy that require special services and servants and not you…unless you are a low wage worker in one of the many service industries. Or they pass it on to their relatives.

Who, thanks to Mr. Trump’s other tax proposal (to eliminate the inheritance tax) can keep it all without paying any taxes on it, ever. So they can in turn pass it on to their relatives and so on and so on ad infinitum, tax free.

And even Mr. Trump agrees that to not pay any taxes is a good and smart thing to do if you are wealthy. When he had to show his income taxes to NJ state authorities when he was trying to get a casino license, they showed he didn’t pay any federal income tax at all. “That makes me smart.” Said his wealthiness.

And as the debate continued, Mr. Trump complained that the U.S. Treasury has accumulated too much debt while the government has neglected American infrastructure. “We’re a debtor nation,” he said. But no matter, because even if Mr. Trump and his fellow wealthy Americans paid their fare share “It would be squandered, too, believe me.” He added.

So to sum up Donald trump’s tax plan:
Give more money to the wealthiest Americans in the form of tax reductions. They in turn, will create great jobs and bring their businesses and money back to America…unless they are  smart and possess good business minds, then of course it will be their business duty to figure out how to pay even less or nothing in taxes, while continuing to make things in China and Bangladesh, like Trump companies do.
And that is how he will fund the rebuilding of our infrastructure, continue the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and with ISIS, fight cyber-terror, build the wall on the Mexican border, deport millions of illegal aliens, pay down the debt and make America Great again.
After all, who needs money to pay for government expenses? I’m sure that when you try to think of ways to pay your ever inflating expenses your first thought is always: Hey! Maybe I can reduce my income?! Yeah that oughta do it…and declaring bankruptcy 4 times might help also…oh, but I think that’s for rich people too.

The Desperate Ones

I keep hearing this all of the time these days: “The American public is desperate and that’s why they are going to vote for Donald Trump.”

But who are these desperate Americans…these Desperadoes? Current literature indicates that desperado is derived from the Spanish term desesperado which means a person with no hope. So are there that many Americans who are feeling hopeless in America today? So much so that they see Donald Trump as their only hope to save a ruined America?

And is America in ruins? Here where I live, in white, suburban, New Jerseyed, America most of my white friends say that’s exactly how they feel, “Hopeless and ruined” …and they say this on Facebook and out-loud almost everyday and as often as they can.

Right after they wake up in their big suburban houses with affordable, almost paid-off mortgages and manicured lawns and with a big cup of $10 Starbucks in their hand they like to say, “Just look around. The USA is going to hell in a hand-basket!”

Then they are off to play golf or hangout at the local gym where they like to kibitz about how all of their money is being wasted on needless taxes to pay for entitlement programs and the poor.

Later, while washing their shiny new car, which they like to replace with a newer model every 3 years or so, they’re happy to chew your ear off about how ISIS is destroying the world and embarrassing our military and keeping us from getting more oil for our gas guzzling cars…but they’ll leave out the guzzling part.

On Facebook they love to post photos of their summer vacation in Cancun where the weather was beautiful, the people friendly and the prices cheap. Then their next post will explain exactly why we need a nice big wall built on the border to keep those personable yet pesky Mexicans from visiting us here. “Because they’re no good, lazy job destroyers!” (however, they do possess just enough energy for raping and murdering)

My desperate, white, American friends also like to tell me how illegal immigrants are taking all of the good American jobs, while destroying the American way of life and contributing nothing to our society…and they often say this right after the Spanish-American army has just finished roofing their houses, mowing their lawns, cleaning their homes and picking up after their children.

Many of my friends are also desperate for a return to the rule of law and for fair and balanced justice for all Americans! And as soon as they get it they want Hillary and Obama arrested and imprisoned immediately and without warrant or charges because that’s how it should be done in an America that needs to become great…again!

Yes, all of the Trump supporters that I know are very desperate… but what they are truly desperate about or for is hard to figure out, since they already appear to have just about everything they want or need.

What I do know however, is that should Trump be elected president then the truly desperate ones in America will have less than they have now. I know this because the Republicans have already told us their plans…and Donal Trump is indeed a Republican and one who will see to it that the Supreme Court will be as Republican as the Senate and House of Representatives already are.

And so in a completely Republican America what we know will happen is:

The hungry will become hungrier. The poor will be made poorer. The homeless will remain without homes. The unions will diminish. The pensions will disappear. Women will lose rights to control their own bodies. Those who need healthcare will lose what healthcare they have now. Those who are now married in what some feel is an nontraditional way will find themselves un-married. Higher education will grow more expensive and be out of reach for most Americans. The planet will grow hotter still… And last but not least, The 1%  at the top of the income ladder will grow richer and with no regulation, while the other 1%, at the bottom of the income ladder, will do all of the fighting in far away countries and with no respite.

We know all of this because that is what is in the Republican platform…which you can actually read if you’d like, on the internet. And Donald Trump is, after all, no savior…just Republican.

So if it is not for restoring an old white man and old white values to the Presidency of the United States of America then what pray tell, are the self proclaimed desperate ones really so desperate for? Can anyone out there honestly tell me?

The Great Wall of US

5 Sep

Image result for the great wall

Presidential hopeful, Donald Trump, says that if elected he still promises to build an “impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful southern border wall,” that will be bolstered by technology and paid for by Mexico.

The Mexican President Enrique Peña, however, said that Mexico will in no way pay for any wall built by The United States of America. And one would probably have to agree with the Mexican President because Mexico is a sovereign nation and no free state would ever pay for something that some other nation has built and owns…absent of an act of war that is.

Will America declare war on Mexico if Donald trump is elected President of the United States? How else will he get the good people of Mexico to fork over their hard earned money? Swap for drugs? (Americans use more drugs than any other nation by far) Send them a bill? (every Republican knows that Hispanics/Mexicans/Whatever, don’t pay their bills) Maybe the border guards can hold every Mexican that they catch trying to get over the wall upside down and shake out the change from their pockets? That might help.

In any case, Mr. Trump, nor any of his supporters, has yet to explain how they will get Mexico to pay for the mighty 19 hundred mile wall. But be that as it may no can can even explain how…or even where for that matter, this impenetrable, powerful and beautiful wall will be built because 12 hundred of those miles include the Rio Grande River.

Will we build a wall along the river also? This, I think, might be a first among walls. And on whose side would the wall be built. If we build said wall on the Mexican side then we will have to invade Mexico and confiscate a portion of their land on which to build our wall and a demilitarized or neutral zone from which we could defend it. Otherwise they might just knock the wall down!

If we build the wall on our side of the Rio Grande River then all Texans and Americans will be cut off from using the river as a water resource or for recreation purposes or just for looking at. I suppose we could paint a 1,200 mile mural of the river on our side of the wall. After all what’s a little more expense when spending billions in the first place?

But in spite of all of these questions that I have (I don’t know about anyone else) according to a recent Pew Research center analysis, more Mexican immigrants have returned to Mexico from the U.S. than have migrated here since the end of the Great Recession, and that’s  according to newly available government data from both countries. The same data sources also show the overall flow of Mexican immigrants between the two countries is at its smallest since the 1990s, mostly due to a drop in the number of Mexican immigrants coming to the U.S.

So who needs a wall? Besides how will all of my Trump supporting friends who just love to vacation in Mexico because it’s so beautiful, cheap and a place where the people are so friendly, going to get there if we build a wall?

I know what you are thinking… they’ll fly or take a boat! So I guess it’s a good thing that Mexicans haven’t learned how to do either of those things yet isn’t it?

And yet, Presidential hopeful, Donald Trump, still says that if elected he promises to build an “impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful southern border wall,” that will be bolstered by technology and paid for by Mexico.

He just forgot to mention that what it won’t be is practical…nor in any way effective.
