“Would I approve waterboarding? You bet your ass I would…in a heartbeat, and I would approve more than that. Don’t kid yourselves folks. It works okay? It works. Only a stupid person would say it doesn’t work. Believe me it works. And you know what? If it doesn’t work, they deserve it anyway, for what they’re doing. It works!”
That would be Donald Trump, Republican front runner for the nomination to run for the Presidency of the United States, while speaking last month at a rally for his supporters.
Thousands cheered his approval as he spoke those words.
Walls, the deportation of millions, the profiling of millions of others, more war and torture…for non citizens and citizens alike.
Would this be the kind of government that we deserve here in the United States of America at the dawn of the 21st century?
It will be if you vote for it.
Await reading the posts/viewing the likes, etc. of this – just as I watch to see what humanity in my ‘circle of knowns’ does at other social media outlets – – I shall either be proven wrong on my take that things are so jacked up, folks are hot to support the ridiculous – OR – I’ll be proven wrong – BUT – from one who has, on purpose, sheltered herself from popular and commercial media, I read the above and wondered, “In what reality is this sentiment laudable? Didn’t we out grow these kind of human tactics to survive and move forth, milenia ago?” I could be wrong – but huge sad shock to my heart that anyone would refer to the torture of another human being as a means to an end – – granted – you come mess with me and mine – okay – I don’t need to torture you, I’ll do my best to drop you where you stand – cuz you’re the one that decided to pick this fight – 🙂 But for public statement to garner cheers over things that we supposedly walked away from after everyone sort of ‘got’ the Inquisition tactics maybe weren’t the best way to approach things – (even by those who implemented them…) I have to wonder, Why are we still, as a species, making the same mistakes, over and over again and how do we keep from doing so?
I am sorry to say but his rude loud mouth is a little too much!
I agree with you Jacqueline. 🙂
I cannot people are even thinking about voting for such a fool.
I’m sure that’s what they thought about Hitler.
Definitely.

Dangerous, dangerous man. He is a far greater risk to our national security than anything else. How many young Muslims have become “radicalized” by his hateful rhetoric, I wonder?
My sister Meg sees Trump’s popularity as just another sign of the end times.
Fearmonger!
That man is a bloody danger to us all
In the last few months, the Donald has gone from a joke to a threat. I saw the Facebook post of the grandson of a holocaust survivor who said that in Germany, intelligent, well meaning people initially thought no one could buy the bombast and hate rhetoric of Hitler. I don’t know if this country has ever been so close to a dark edge. Perhaps during the depths of the civil war…
