The Top 10 rules that children learn in school that may handicap their future…#1

16 Nov

If you’re a parent or adult or teacher or perhaps all three. then you have probably already realized what it is that will wear kids out, and their chance for a bright and happy future,  faster than just simply growing older, just like it has most probably worn you out. The rules! And the fact that in adulthood where kids are going and where you’ve been, there really are no rules.

This is what will make young adults’ heads spin until they lose their sense of balance: The realization that everything they were taught in schools with regards to morality, personal behavior and fair play by adults, will go right out the window as soon as they turn 18. For most the realization will be a slow and grinding process that will wear them down over time, and for others the cold reality of the adult world will hit them as suddenly and as hard as an angry officer’s night stick.

Children are led to believe that they need to grow up and act like adults because adults have manners and adults learn to play fair and adults obey the rules and adults keep promises and children are always getting in trouble with adults for not doing those things. However, once a child enters the adult world he or she eventually discovers that it was all just a scam because the adults who are quickest to shed those childhood rules are quite often the quickest to reach success and power aren’t they? In fact, the fastest to unlearn the rules will be the quickest to win the game! Here’s what I mean by the rules that children learn in schools and are expecting to be in effect and enforced once they become adults:

Rule #1

Don’t hit back/ No fighting! Hitting back is expected in the adult world. If you don’t hit back you’ll be labeled a coward or non-assertive or a wimp. Taking one’s revenge is revered in the adult world and considered a must activity when a person is wronged. The adult who admonishes the child for hitting back saying, “I don’t care who started it. Hitting is wrong!”  Will never find himself repeating these words to adults who get into fights. In fact governments of every belief system and philosophy, great and small, all over the world and throughout time get involved in devastating wars simply because someone hit first and they had to hit back.

Rule #2?…To be continued…
