Don’t Push That Red Button!

Do Not Push That Red Button!

This is the pledge that all members of Congress take upon entering Congress.

It is their oath of office…

“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

However,  As of the November 6th 2012 election, 256 members of Congress…all Republicans… have signed the Americans for Tax Reform “Taxpayer Protection Pledge”, in which they promise to “oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rate for individuals and business.”

The founder of Americans for Tax Reform is:

Grover Glenn Norquist, who has been famously noted for the following widely quoted statement:

“I’m not in favor of abolishing the government. I just want to shrink it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub.”

So, 256 Republican Congressmen, prior to taking their oath of office to one of the highest public positions that our federal government has to offer have already taken an oath to another individual and organization whose mantra and main goal is to eliminate the very government (by starving it of funds)  that they are supposed to preserve, support and defend against all enemies.

Is this not treason in perhaps its most blatant form since the self declared Confederate States seceded from the Union in 1861? But wouldn’t you know that the Congress defined Treason in the Constitution as the aiding and abetting of a foreign enemy…

Grover Norquist is however, an American citizen who  has described himself as a “boring white bread Methodist who  is also a member of the Republican party. Although he holds no political office, his organization, ATR, states that it “opposes all tax increases as a matter of principle.” but As a nonprofit organization, Americans for Tax Reform is not required to disclose the identity of its contributors. According to CBS News, “a significant portion appears to come from wealthy individuals, foundations and corporate interests.” (probably not you)

And yet not a day seems to go by without my reading about how President Obama is a traitorous president because he at one time or another has shaken hands with, or stood next to, or been in the same room with, or attended the same church as or had a roommates’ brother’s cousin on his father’s side who spoke out against our great country… but here are 256 Republicans who have actually signed a pledge promising to adhere to an organization’s beliefs that are in direct opposition to the government that they are elected to serve, which is run by an individual who is for all intents and purposes the reincarnation of a modern day Jefferson Davis!

And it’s no secret…

This is why our government does not work.. Fully 48% of our elected Congressmen serve under a different god and his name is Grover…and he has told them not to work for U.S.
